Gaspereau Red is a small lot red made from a unique blend of the classic Nova Scotia grape varieties Marechal Foch, Triomphe D’Alsace and Lucie Kuhlmann. The wines were fermented in individual batches, blended then aged in both French and Hungarian oak barrels for 13 months. With a balance of both strength and elegance, this red is an ideal food wine, pairing well with slow roasted meats, tomato-based pasta dishes and an array of BBqued dishes.
The nose of this small lot red is filled with notes of black cherry and raspberry with soft undertones of vanilla, oak and spice.
Notes of black cherry and spice persist on the palate on this complex red. The wine opens up elegantly into integrated layers of soft tannins, vanilla and spiced plum on the finish.
An ideal food wine, pairing well with slow roasted meats, tomato-based pasta dishes and an array of BBqued dishes.
